The stinging is normal, because you did not wait the recommended 6-8 weeks for it to heal! Also don't use Listerine to clean it, that will just dry it out, use uniodized sea salts, and soak it, clean any crusties off it and turn it, make sure you wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap before handling it, clean it at least 3 times a day being that it is on your mouth which is one of the dirtiest places on any ones body. Keep cleaning it, don't change the hardware, for another 2 months, and remember to keep cleaning it all the time, even after the 6-8 week healing is over, a year of good healing is necessary for any piercing. Good luck if it looks infected see a Dr. Don't be like me! lol and hold off on any others till that one is all healed up

The stinging pain is because your body isn't fully healed or prepared to have the jewelry changed. It has also started adapting to one type of jewelry and now much adjust to another. You shouldn't have changed it, but since you did...the stinging should go away rather soon if you keep the area clean (do not use listerine...use alcohol free mouthwashes and never swish the solution around too much. Also try sea salt soaks..not the best tasting, but effective) and continue to take good care of the area. From this point on, do not change or remove the jewelry again for a while. Lip piercings take 3-6 months to heal on average, so take care of it and you should have problems. Need more info, message me.

Yes, it's going to swell tomorrow. Swelling usually lasts from 3-5 days, sometimes longer. Get your dad to take some ibuprofen in to the clinic so that you can take 2 every 4 hours. Ibufrofen is an anti-inflammatory, so it'll help take the swelling down a lot. Sucking on ice will help too.

I don't think that's normal. Do you clean it daily? Do you use Listerine after you eat? Especially after eating dairy products. You'll always hear a piercer say not to touch the piercing unless your cleaning it, Well that's very true because bacteria can transfer from your hand into the unhealed piercing. You could also be allergic to the jewelery.
