We have a business acct. with Bank of America in CA. They are holding a check from Comerica for 14 business days and they will not release the funds. They have also charged us 1000.00 in NSF fees. We have proof from Comerica that the check cleared the next day and they still will not release the funds. All the NSF fees came after the check really did clear, they said there is nothing they can do and they hung up on us.

We did go into the bank and speak to the manager before we had all the information, the asst manager was the only one in there and of course "I don't know" was her only answer. we have also been with the bank since 1989.

Ask to speak with someone higher up at the bank. $1000 is not worth the time of the more important people, so they will just tell their staff to fix it.

Just keep pushing. They want you to take no for an answer.

If necessary, gather all your documentation and make an appt. with the highest official at the bank that you can. Be strong and keep explaining how they are wrong.

That's excatly the reason I closed my accounts at BOFA. I worked for the company for 10 years and I couldn't get good customer service.
I had someone bounce a check on me. I called to get a copy of cancelled check - after waiting 10 days no check,, I called again they had to start an investigation - 10 days later - still nothgin no letter or nothing.. I called again they had to start an investigation on the investigiation which would take another 10 days. 10 days later nothing- no calls no letters nothing - I went to the local branch told them my problems they told me they could print a certified copy - WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL ME THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE???? I closed my account that day.. It's is only the tip of the iceberg.. trust me I have more BAD DAY storeis about BOFA.. I think they have gotten TOO big for their own good.

Been there, completed that, have been given the perfect answer :) NatWest Step account. you basically get a paying in e book, yet you do get a chip and pin Solo/Maestro debit card. you in addition to would get a splash activity on any money you have in. needless to say you're able to have wages paid in and direct debits can flow out. it is likewise valid for a Paypal account. After 6 month or so, while they're happy with the way it somewhat is working you could word for a favourite branch account with a cheque e book - in case you %. do no longer take the Gold benefit (default) account however, it fees £12 a month for the privilege (noting that some human beings do income from this selection). as quickly as you have a properly-recognized cheque account, all of it danger they'll have faith you with visa form debit card.

Bank of America is one of the MOST greedy, high fee's bank in existance. With treatment like you received I would tell them that if they do not reverse the NSF fees you're going to another bank. If they don't then by all means change banks. B of A is NOT the only game in town, although they act like they are.

I had a similar situation happen to me but when it was all said and done B of A not only reimbursed me for overdraft fees but wrote letters of apology due to bank error for the 6 checks that were returned on their letterhead. Haven't had any problems since.

whew...that is not a good situation but to have $1000 in NSF fees is an indication that MANY checks bounced. I have banked at BofA for over 15 years and have had my ups and downs but they have always been fair. This is not what my experience has been.

You need to go into the bank and speak with the branch manager - The dingbats on the phone only know how to deal with simple situations they can find within their scripts!

you need to deal with this in person because on the phone their very rude if the check cleared you should be able to get the money in 3 business days but it could also be the amount of money they have to double check.
