If Hobbes can't get into heaven because he's a tiger, then Calvin won't be happy there. But if he is in heaven, he'll want to eat the other people, and then THEY won't be happy. But if God makes so that Hobbes doesn't WANT to eat the other people, then HE won't be happy.
So it's kind of a no-win situation for God's justice. It's a good thing he's just as fictional as Calvin and Hobbes.

When John Calvin had Serventus and his Bible burned at the stake, he shown he was no better than the Catholic Church leaders.
I hope to meet Serventus in the future life.
Calvinism showing God's Justice. I think not.

Sweetie, that will be far to tough for even the serious Bible student. John Calvin would disagree with 5 point Calvinism today. Both sides of this argument have a fair scriptural support. It will not be solved on this earth.

This has been a problem down through the ages. We are saved by God's grace, but not all accept it. Ergo, we are all CALLED to salvation, but few anwer the call. Numbers 6:24

No other "system" of belief shows Gods justice as clearly as Calvinism. What did God say? Genesis 2:17
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Note: (surely die) Now Gods justice demands that man die. After all the wages of sin is death, right? So what we aught to be saying is "God must not be just as long as any man is alive" Oh how dull we are to the justice of God. Now as to Calvinism. In a most striking display of mercy AND justice comes the greatest work ever done on earth---The cross. God who cannot go against His own word to Adam and must punish sin with death but who chose to show mercy to some of His creatures chose some of them for life who only deserved death and He paid for their sins Himself by taking our deserved death . Justice pure and simple. Who is with out sin? To disagree is to make God a liar. He states this about all men---Romans 3:10-11
As it is written:
There is none righteous, no, not one;
There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
Now what do the "others" teach? That man can somehow save himself? That is to deny what God says about Him being dead in sin and a hater of God. Jesus Himself says: John 6:65
And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”
Have you tasted the sovereign free grace of God to give you mercy when you know you deserve the pit of hell forever. Then you will know that God is indeed just but you will also know His mercy and your love for Him will abound.
Please study this in the first 8 chapters of Romans and the book of John. May the Lord grant you wisdom. Religion is not where its at. Salvation is in the Resurrection power of Christ. Those born again of His Spirit are new creations. This is true religion.

I'm like you...I no longer believe God is a micro-manager and don't feel the need to try to explain how it is that God is Almighty. I just accept my life-experience for what it is and trust me, God is in control, but chooses not to control all things or manipulate circumstances.

John Calvin was only a mere mortal. His name and his teachings are not mentioned in the bible, so I don't worry too much about his opinions. An opinion only belongs to the person who owns it.

God is under no obligation to save anyone. We are all worthy of eternal damnation. The fact that He would save even one undeserving sinner is an amazing example of His wonderful grace and mercy.
