I think that athiests and agnostics are the only people who can take an objective view of the world.

yeah i agree, we are the only people that aren't crazy enough to start wars about our religion! these religious fanatics need to get a grip on reality..... if only they were not brainwashed and studied physics and quantum physics they would know that all that religion crap is LIES!!!!

No. Atheists have no purpose in life. All their lives revolve around is money money money, and then death, and that's it, or so you think. At least people with religion have a reason to be good people, respectful etc, and we basically have a plan for the future, even after death. If anyone makes the world go crazy, its people who don't believe in anything, because there'll be too many man made laws, many wrong things will eventually become lawful, and its just unpredictable what could happen in society.

Some made the comment that Christians are not doing anything to make this world a better place. What are you doing? What have you done? Just because we believe in God, attempt to display some decency of morals, are we suppose to have an end to all of life's problems. Talk about being close-minded and not very objective! What makes the atheist' views so objective, one could look at it and say their the ones closed minded. So I guess the answer to your question would depend on who's perspective you're seeking an answer from, from my view point, that would a big fat no!

Alison R seems to think it's 'narrow minded' to be an atheist. Where did she get her 'knowledge' from? A mythical book! At least atheists think things through independently rather than being blindly led down the hallelujah aisle. Yes, the rest of the religions may wipe each other out with ignorance.

I'll say it a thousand times over. While a commitment to rationality leads to atheism, the reverse is NOT true.
Just because you're an atheist doesn't mean you aren't as irrational or crazy as a fundi. You may hate your Christian parents, or be rebelling against an increasingly religious society. In either case, your reason for being atheist is irrational, and therefore you don't get to take credit for being objective and impartial.
Rationalists are the last hope for a world that's going crazy. Rationalists who take the time to apply their rationality to religion are called atheists, but this may not be a necessary step, provided they are being rational in all other areas of life.

Complete Opposite Muslims, Christians, God believers are the only hope besides God. And if you Atheist, Agnostics, or whatever you are aren't down with that we got some words for ya and they aren't words you want to hear. It's Atheists like you that are brainwashed to believe that Religion brings war, diasters, etc. That's all False Religion! Atheists are judgemental for saying people Believers are judgemental because they don't even know the person.

I'd have to agree. Nothing causes more problems than religion. Too bad so many people can't learn to just keep their religion to themselves. The world would be alot more peaceful place.

I honestly think so - after all, we're not going to kill someone for not believing in our personal God. And I've never heard of any atheist armies called to fight in a holy war.

No, there are open minded liberal thinkers that still believe in a higher power, also there are a lot more people that follow eastern mystics etc that still don't register as atheists or agnostics that are actually talking a lot of sense.

For many years I considered myself Agnostic, however I have changed my views. It isn't religion that is the cause of the world going crazy it is people who have nothing to believe in except themselves and when they fail the lose it. Atheist are bound to the pits of fire whereas Agnostics are still close enough to redemption.

More than atheism or agnostism, it is existentialism that will save the world. We have to move away from enforcing very subjective ideas like the concept of God and morality as objective ones. People have to realize that looking at everything in black and white will cause nothing but conflict
