I've recently taken a liking to red wine and started drinking quite a bit of it when I'm out, I don't know anything about it and would like to know if there are any risks or benefits involved?

I agree w/ the other person who replied, moderation is definately a key component. As for the benefits, all alcoholic beverages, in moderation will help w/ blood pressure and stress, but red wine has an additional benefit being that it contains anti-oxidants, and therefore actually promote the well being of your cell structure as well. Hope this helps.

Moderation is the key and recent studied have shown there are health benefits from drinking red wine by lowering blood pressure and/or preventing arterial clogging leading to stroke and/or heart attacks.

Well, the downside is like anything else, too much is not good. It will trigger histamines in your system if you already have allergies! My nose runs, but i will put up with it for a good red!
On the plus side, there are compounds in red wine especially that are actually very good for the body. Does anyone notice that the French tend to have rather rich diets, but the fact that they drink wine, helps them not look like it for the most part??
One glass a night, maybe two is actually very beneficial to you!
