Don’t know the future, I cannot predict it, but here is an idea… The word Sandinista causes fear, investments run at its mentioning, now that the Sandinistas are in power investments are scared again, BUT what would happen if nothing happened in the country? What if after 5 years of ruling the Sandinistas step out of power and the country is ok? Well, investments will fly into the country like never before, because the only thing investment feared was the Sandinistas, and since they did not screw up… Hope you get the idea. Sure, everything could go the other way, but hell, investing is a risk like anything else…

Better if the Americans live up to their "threats" and pull out.

Sorry guys, I'm not being anti-American here but history has shown that everytime the US intervenes in Nicatagua, the people suffer:

- Backing the Contras (result - massacres of peasants, trade unionists, priests etc)
- Withdrawing billions in aid when the Nicaraguan people tried to impeach the (US backed) vice-President for corruption (result - increase in debt and poverty)

It's time to let the Nicaraguan people make their own decisions without interference, even if it supposedly harms US exonomic interests.

The Nicaraguenses are making such a big mistake, I truly feel sorry for what is going to come of all this. Cardinal Fang is absolutely right ! Those Contras killed innocent people just because Ronald Reagan didn't want "Communism in our back-yard."

Daniel Ortega was patient. He played the game and waited for his opportunity. Because of corruption among the past Presidents who did nothing to better the country.
If I am a peasant and someone offers me 2 meals a day instead of 1. He gets my vote.
