I like smoke flavored beans, so I was thinking of putting some black eyed peas in the slow cooker. Ill season it well and add some smoked turkey legs. When its almost done I'll add some Turkey Sausage. Ill also prepare a pot of white rice. I dont think I need to cook some meat, because meat is already in the beans. What do you think?? Rice with beans and sausage sounds good to me kinda New Orleans-ish.

With a nice tall glass of RED Kool-Aid. LOL LOL

Sounds GREAT! Just add some corn bread to scoop up all the sauce!

What's your address? If I leave N.Chicago by 4:30, I'm sure I could be there by 6 : )

I like the black eyed peas and rice, but would skip the turkey (legs and sausage). Black eyed peas and rice is great when you mix in stewed tomatoes.

Sounds yummy to me but I don't know too many folks that like black eyed peas. I myself would substitute pinto beans or kidney beans for the black eyed peas, but I'm a native born texan and have different prefrences when it comes to beans! New orleanites love red beans and so do I!!!

That sounds excellent! I was wary of black-eyed peas, but they're so good. And any smoked meat with a bone in is amazing for flavor!

A one and a half inch thick. outdoor, slow grilled, marinated tender porterhouse steak. With grilled crispy steak fries, a sweet fresh garden salad and a light zinfandel wine, say 1998 or 1999. Then for dessert, 100% natural French vanilla ice cream drenched in imported dutch chocolate sauce with a spearmint leaf garnish. Afterwards a snifter of napoleon brandy and a havana cigar.

It sounds like it will be wonderful - I'm just not too keen on the turkey leg part. The sausage okay but not the leg.

So far, it sounds pretty good, but you might want to add some cut okra and diced onions to kinda round out the taste and texture.

I think that sounds AWESOME. I'd also serve some corn on the side. I like corn with dishes like that. Oh, and some "hot sawse" :) By the way, you're making me hungry!
