They keep sliding to the middle of the rod, and I want them to stay back, for full view out the window. I don't want tiebacks; I want them to stay straight panels.

Like tape or something?? but I don't necessarily want to tape by brand new drapes.

Sew some weight into the hem. Washers froma hardware store make good weights.

If they keep sliding to the middle, then your rod isn't straight. Try putting a hook-type thing in the middle to hold the rod up level.
