(Mine has the bear minimun in decor, we do not hang pictures and obviously everything is clean and everything in its place. We only have one picture in the dinning room with the 99 names of Allah written in Gold, I think that reflects me, as well as my beliefs in a sense: simple, structured and clean)

Yes Mulimah I think you may be on to something. My house is very eclectic, I have antiques, modern pieces, artwork and it all seems to mesh together. That is pretty much how I am with my faith as well. I adapt and take many concepts of various beliefs and find truth as well as lies in all of them. But I see all of them as valid ways for each individual to have a personal relationship with god. That was interesting I never thought of it that way.
I wish you well

My residing house replaced into equipped in 1960. The kitchen, bogs, and all the different rooms I easily have as much as date and more desirable. My residing house has a sparkling roof and new heating, air conditioner unit. This 1500+ sq. foot construction isn't a house yet my residing house. It reflects the existence kinds of my spouse and that i. it somewhat is sparkling and modern-day as would be for a 50 twelve months previous construction. Spirituality has no longer something to do with the residing house. My spouse is Roman Catholic and that i'm Jewish. She does have a flow putting from a photograph of her parents interior the den. I easily have a mazzuah nailed to the front door. different then that it somewhat is basically our residing house.

I don't think the appearance of your home necessarily has to reflect you're religious beliefs. But I certainly don't think that it would contradict them. You shouldn't be afraid to show symbols of your belief, we live in a world that can take the fact that some people are different. Even though the media makes it seem that people will be highly offended if you say that you don't believe what they do, well the media is wrong. Really, people are ready to accept common differences and won't get offended or anything. In fact I enjoy having spiritual conversations, and hearing different points of view from people who believe different things. So no, you're home's appearence does not necessarily have to reflect your beliefs but it is perfectly fine and acceptible to do so.

I think that what ever your belief is you should set an example why because you are a reflection of your religion. If you love and respect God you should show that in everything you do. You should be a clean as you can, same for your home inside and out. I belief we are setting the example for our beliefs and it is a reflection of us. I think everything we do is reflected on how we feel about our beliefs. I do not just get cleaned up for Sunday Services. I try to show my love for God everyday in everything and in every aspect of my life. That is how it is suppose to be. God is not part time . I do not have statues or pics on my wall because i feel that is idol worshiping i do not need those things to worship God Jesus did not use anything to worship his Father. So he set the example and i do the same.

Your thoughts reflects lack of knowledge. It does not make any difference if you have a picture with 99 names of Allah, or a picture with great ocean waves and birds flying over it. It is a picture. Ask your elders/clerics if they worship idols/symbols.
I am not trying to say you are wrong. Only thing I am saying the great religion respects others thought. You are appreciating your religion because you were born and brought up in that way. If you will ask a Hindu He will say Chanting Hare Rama-Hare Krishna is so great and peace full. Same Way when you ask a Christian he will say Only Jesus is Lord and every one should pray him.
The humanity has suffered a lot due to misinterpretation of different religion. I am not saying that people should not follow their religion. We should always be respectfull to others faiths.
Thanks

I do think that I could walk into most people's homes and determine what religion they are. I happen to be christian, and I think that would be obvious when looking at my walls, but people might be surprised at what they see on my book shelves. I enjoy reading about other religions such as Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, etc.

Although I am christian, I have often wondered what my faith would be had I been born in an Arab country. We tend to believe what we were taught as a child........just as I wonder if you would have still had your religious beliefs if you had been born in a heavy christian country. It's an interesting question to ponder.

One thing I think most religions agree on is treating others with kindness. I think your decor at your home is probably soothing and inviting to others as I hope mine is too.

Thanks for the question. I think I'll get up and walk around and look at my home with fresh eyes and wonder what people might think when they walk in.

Sincerely,

The only thing my house reflects about me is that I have a bunch of kids(I have 7) I have pictures of my kids, my family and my friends all over my house. I do have my favorite scripture on my wall...Its Genesis 1:28 Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it...
I guess it does reflect how important my family and friends are to me.

There are no religious items, so perhaps that applies since I'm an atheist.

I have angel pictures, but they're all non-cherubic (Joel Spector, Three Hovering Angels, photography by Geoffrey Nelson.)

Yep, I think it rather does. I do have some additional items on display, like tarot cards and a hand of glory. I don't think anyone would walk in and have me pegged, but if that one TV show were still on and my house was featured, I think they'd do a credible job of describing me.

Well, my fish's bowl has a little statue of Buddha in it, so I guess. Other than that, my walls are green and covered in posters of things I like (A map of Middle Earth, a poster of Jack Sparrow, a poster of the Jabberwoky, a poster I got at a Rolling Stones concert). It's rather messy and I never make my bed, but it's comfortable and makes me happy.

Lets see, i have some antlers, deer bones covered in lichen, a mouse skeleton in a bottle, gargoyles and trolls all over, a pet tarantula, spider webs in the corners. So yes, I guess it is a good witch's house.
