i have a jack russell terrier, and last week she got her rabies vacination, well today my mom brought her to the vet for me to get her updated on her shots and they gave her another vacination for rabies, will that harm her?

I'm just curious why they gave her another one? Are you sure they were both rabies shots? Cause in some areas they give dogs rabies and then a combo vaccine that includes the parvo, corona, and distemper vaccines all in one shot. It won't hurt your dog but it was a waste of money if they gave two rabies. I guess she will just be double protected now.

Well I'm not a Vet or Assistant,but if your pet has received two injections of rabies vaccination within a week,I would most definately seek another vet,as this is very dangerous and a rabies vac is only suppose to be given annually(Within a year).I would most definately call the vet office and tell them if your pet should die from this mistake,you will be seeking the cost of your pet.Hopefully this won't hurt your pet and only time will tell,but would call another vet and ask if this is dangerous for your pet and if there is anything you can do .Please get another vet.

She could have a reaction but likely won't. Watch her closely for lethargy, decreased appetite and any abnormal behaviors for her. If she appears ill contact a vet immediately .I would NOT use that same vet again if he was the one that gave her two, if however you got it done at another vet office or clinic then it was your responsability to let the vet know and to show proof.

No but WHAT a *WASTE*!!!!
How THOUGHTLESS was it for somebody to TAKE somebody else's dog for ANYTHING!!! & HOW ***STUPID*** to go w/out the PREVIOUS RECORDS!!!!
And...for the VETS to DO ANYTHING w/out the OWNER'S PERMISSION!!
Duh.....
