found a cat in the fairfax virginia area?

i'm only posting on here cause i know people will read it.

if you lost a larger black cat somewhere in fairfax virginia, please email me. we found it, fed it, and kept it inside overnight since it was so cold out. we let it out this morning, but feel it will come back (it came back to us after a 5 hour period). we will call animal control tonight when we find it again, but cannot keep it ourselves. we want to give the owner a chance to find it before sending it to fairfax county animal shelter on west ox road. please email me if you think this is your cat

its the sweetest thing, i dont know if its a girl or boy tho cause i havent flipped it over. its not afraid of our dog at all, hasnt hissed, didnt like the crate we put it in, but hey, what cat does.
i sat by our back door and looked at our dog for almost an hour before wandering away again, but then came back to me when i let the dog out about 5 hours later. i believe it comes from a family with a dog. and i think its only been outside a few days at most given the condition of the coat, but it does seem to have a matt or a tick in its fur by its neck, so i need to find the owners asap or get it to the shelter so it can be looked at.
