If you can afford to splurge, treat your hair to some Kerastase Products. They are manufactured by L'Oreal Studios & are only available in select salons. But let me tell you, your hair will be spoiled rotten. It's like spa treatments for your head. Whether you have thick or fine hair, I would recommend the Bain Satin Shampoo. They have 1,2, & 3 depending on the amount of moisture you want to impart, 3 being the most. For the best conditioning treatment you've ever had, use the Masquintensse. They have one for thick OR fine hair. These products are so concentrated that you only need an almond size of the shampoo, and enough conditioning masque to cover the 2 fingers you dip into the tub. No joke... and I have A LOT of hair.
Kerastase will enable you to immediately see a difference in the shine, smoothness & bounce of your hair.
And never forget, ALWAYS USE LEAVE-IN PRODUCTS, whether you style w/ heat or not. Any professional will tell you the same.
Happy hair days! :)

If you want celeb shine, rinse your conditioner out in cool water. I recommend using anything from the Matrix biolage line for your shampoo and conditioner. For the shine, there is a product by KMS called Silker. It really works and gives you that celeb shine. You can also use a wax pomade. Becareful the amount you use and how you use it or it'll make your hair look greasy.
Here is a link, try out their silksheen line.
Good luck!

When I was pregnant with my little girl, My doctor prescribed me pre-natal vitamins, and just a few weeks after I started taking them my hair became fuller, thicker, and shinier than it had ever been. She also suggested I keep taking them even after I had her, you can get them at just about any store over the counter. I got my last bottle at Wal-mart. But, you might want to talk to a proffessional about taking the pre-natal vitamins just in case. Use your best judgement. Also, I know you said nothing out of the refridgerator, but I have heard that Avacodos work really well, I mean it is a fruit, and probably wouldn't be all that disgusting like mayonaise, or honey or eggs, which kind of makes me sick just thinking about it... I hope my input helps.

This Marie Claire artcle has some great info
http://magazines.ivillage.com/marieclaire/beauty/hair/articles/0,,434725_437494,00.html
Don't forget to always rinse your hair in cool or cold water when you're done conditioning!
You might also try adjusting your diet to add lots more vitamin E (nuts, avocado, wheatgerm, green veg, etc)
Good info here:
http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=nutrient&dbid=111
or try an E supplement.
Omega3 (Fish oil capsules - they have no taste, well - unless you chew them lol) is also good.
Some folks even use a mane conditioner made for horses - Horse & Tail? & swear it works better than anything else (I'm not stepping up to recommend it, mind you - I haven't tried it)

your hair may not be shiny because of damage and diet! try drinking more water, using heat defence sprays if you use a hair dryer or straightners and eat lots of fish and fruit and veg for the good oils and vitamins needed for you hair from the inside! you can not just make shiny hair if you give your hair a bad base! also i would have a couple of inches taken off to get rid of split ends, deep condition every few weeks and use salon products, because they don't coat your hair with silicone, so it is actually better.x

Have you tried the stuff in your fridge? some of it really worked for me! I wont mention which though since you dont want to hear it.
Have you ever tried using a ceramic flat iron on your hair? That is what I use and I already have straight hair, but I use the iron to make it shiny. If you try this, make sure you use a heat shield spray on your hair first so it dont dry out. I use v05.

Your hair may be dull by to much shampoo build up.
sometimes that just has to be rinsed out well.
Make sure when you buy shampoo to look at the ingredients, if it contains silicone.. don't buy it... scrap any shampoo containing that ingredient, cause this is coats your hair, and that makes the shampoo build up.
Hate to say LOL, but just once, rinse your hair with vinegar, then wash with a natural shampoo that contains no silicone

I have to say the best products i have used are from the Aveda range (just buy what suits). Available from big department stores and QVC. FYI: all the products smell YUM!
I do agree with the person who mentioned eating a healthy balanced diet.

Try and get some Biosilk, from hairdressers, brilliant stuff, protects against heat damage and actually works with the heat from styling, does not make your hair sticky, limp or flyaway and smells gorgeous too!
Best thing I've found to date (and I've tried lots)
