Okay, me and a friend of mine (Rachel) are going to a concert (not the fun kind) for a school assingment. Rachel is very pretty and I'm a little sweet on her, like when I talk to her I get a funny feeling in my stomach and my hands sweat and my mouth get dry. Anyway we're going to this concert not so much as a date, but as a "we both have to go, why not go together?". Anyway, here's the quandry. The concert is at 7 or 7:30 at night, i'm not sure which. Should I ask her if she'd like to get something to eat before we go? If she says yes should we go to a fast food place or a sit-down restaurant? should I pay if we go? Like I said, it isnt really a date and If i paid for her meal would she think it was? what should i do?

This is sooo adorable!

I would say ask her to go to dinner before hand. If she wants to go, then DO NOT take her to fast food, but don't take her somewhere to fancy. I would say a pizza joint, or a little diner in your hometown (or wear the concert is). Something that is quick and simple, where there wouldn't be much pressure, and you both can be yourselves. You need to pay! Most girls will offer half or their share, and just say no, but thank you!

Then go to the concert! By this time, after your meal, and the concert you will be able to pick up on whether the feeling is mutual. Have fun, though! Don't stress about it!

Would you really have a problem if she thought it was a real date? Be the gentleman, pay for a sit-down dinner and TREAT it like a real date. If she has a great time, offer a "real first date" (i.e., a second date) and consider it a good start to a relationship!

Ask her. The worst thing that can happen is she says no. If she says yes, you should pay because you asked her. And don't be so sure that this isn't a date. She might want it to be, and is waiting for you to take some initiative. Try flirting a little bit, complement her looks and see how she reacts. You might get lucky there, buck-o!

If you do ask her to go out to eat, don't take her to a fast food place! Take her to a sit-down restaurant and offer to pay. It will show that you're a gentleman and you can see where it goes from there.

Sure, ask her. I wouldn't do fast food like McDonald's, Burger King, but nothing fancy either. Be a gentlemen and pay. If you ask her and she tells you in the beginning she doesn't have the money, tell her you will pay this time and she can pay the next..sure way to get another date!

Doesn't sound like a "quandry" to me! Ask her! Today, people have forgotten the art of "communication." Never hurts to ask her if she wants to eat before the concert. If you ask her...it would be a "gentlemanly" thing to pay. Moreso, IMO, if you wish to impress her...ask her if she has any preferences...if not...make it a nice place!

YES, You should go together and don't be too shy. Ask her even if she wants pizza and pay for it or a chain restaurant. Then the ball is on her side see how she responds.

How about ask her to the restaurant (not fast food) and if she offers to help pay, let her. If not, then pay the bill yourself. So take enough money with you just in case.

Ask her & tell her it is your treat...then if she says yes...Also by saying it's your treat then it's pretty much up to you where to go. Sit down would be better. If she says she wants to pay her own way (friends) then you both decide.

If you ask her then it is a date and you should pay. Maybe you'll get lucky after the concert.
