Yes! And if what I say is of any help it feels wonderful.

Problem with Yahoo Answers is that once your respond and even if you get best answer you never know if the problem was helped or not. But at least it is great to have tried.

Mother Theresa was interviewed on occasion. On one occasion, she was told how generous and unselfish she was. She replied with something like this, "I am rather selfish, actually. I feel good when I can help someone else. So you see, I am doing it... for me."

Was she selfish? Maybe, but that's a very interesting way to look at it regardless. There are many of us who long to be helpful to others. Whether it's a need to feel needed, a desire to feel better about our abilities to give (even if it's just a shoulder to cry on), a longing to believe that someone looks at you as if you were a saint or a Heaven-sent... We have some subconscious reasoning for wanting to help others.

I know mine. I like to think that people know they can count on me. Whether it's providing food to my neighbor who works very hard for his company and is rewarded by being laid off when the company is bought out, or by always being there for a friend who's having troubles with depression, or handing a happy meal to someone on the street corner hold a, "Will work for food" sign. I feel good about myself because I know I was able to bring at least a little bit a peace to someones life.

Remember; we will be remembered for what we did, long after they've forgotten what we said.

I am one of them. I do not like to see people suffer in any way. It is great to see others helping others.
