It depends on the state, some states allow repo after two missed payments, others only on the third. Be certain however that your vehicle will disappear in the night in you get behind three payments. Since you have paid on it a year, they get to keep all of your payments , downpayment and resell the vehicle for more than you owed on the car, so why would they not repo it as soon as legal. You can make it nearly impossible for them to repo the car if you do not park the car at any address that your lender knows, your house, your work,... Park at a friends house obviously a good distance from your own and have them drive you. Park any where but your house or work or they will get it. If they can not find your car through the repo man they will call you and treat you like a criminal but you can force them to come to terms that you can have them put in writing that as long as you pay x amount of dollars until you catch up they will not repo your car and allow you to keep it.

If they do repo your car do not pay another dime, because they will have entered the repo on your credit bureau and will not take it off even after you pay what you were behind.

call them and explain your situation. Finance companies do not want to repo vehicles. They will work with you. They won't forgive those two payments, but they will work with you to avoid a repo.

In response to the answer above. You should not avoid the repo company, it is your debt, and the finance company has ever right to their collateral. That answer is what a criminal would do, and will not help you in any way. Do what i suggested above, and get this done the proper and legal way.

pay your bills and it won't happen. otherwise they will be looking for it if it is worth repoing. otherwise they will just take court action. it's all about the money
