My kids use the Mr. and Mrs.. with first name. Just shows respect. We teach our kids this in hopes they will learn that if they give respect, they will receive it. Too many kids just saying whatever they want.

It really depends. . .
Our close friends, our daughter is taught to call them "aunt" or "uncle". Our more casual friends, we ask how they would prefer for her to be taught to address them. Most are fine with a first-name thing. Some of the more old-fashioned people are in the group of the Mr-or-Mrs thing.
Go with what you feel most comfortable with. Of course, if it is someone that you don't know well at all, I would stick with the Mr or Mrs unless they correct you. Let them make the call.

Depending on the person. Auntie and Uncle are for family and close friends. Others deserving respect that are not that close are Mr and Mrs. My children will call all adults Mr or Mrs unless told by said adult they can call them something different.

I think it depends alot on the friend. A couple of my very close friends my children call them "aunt dawn,, or uncle josh" but if there just friends that my children see from time to time, They usually just call them by Ms April, or Mr.Jay etc,,,,,using the first name instead of using the last name, thus making it less formal but still respectful. But maybe you should ask your friends how they wished to be addressed as, maybe they have some input. Good luck

My kids call some adults by their first name if we know them well. If they are extremely good friends then they usually say Uncle or Aunt. Otherwise they call everyone else Mr or Mrs especially if they are older people. Im 30 and I really dont like it when kids call me Mrs.... Makes me feel old and I know Im not yet.....

My son isn't old enough to address them as anything yet...but I will likely just have my kids call my friends by their first name. The majority of my friends are around my age (24) and do not wanted to be called Mr. or Mrs. anything! If they're your friends, it is not disrespectful to call them by their first name....if it is someone you don't really know, then Mr. or Mrs. would work.

My parents always had me call their friends Ms. or Mr. I'm 23 now, and I still have a hard time calling some of my older co-workers by their first name...it feels so weird.
I think Auntie/Uncle would be way too confusing. I personally would only use Aunt and Uncle for family only.

They call them by their first names. I don't want to be called Mrs. I always ask people and I have never had anyone say Mrs.

my children address adult friends as Mr. or Mrs.--- I don't go for the whole "aunt" and "uncle" thing because I think it's confusing to the children. I also think those are titles of honor for family members only

I think the proper and respectful way is by Mr. & Mrs. If they refer to everyone as Aunt or Uncle or cousin, then they will have no true meaning and relationship with those who actually are their relatives. I see too many times today that my children and grandchildren refer to their elders by their first name. One of my grandaughters referred to one of my friends by his name, Bob. She actually got insulted when I told her to call him Mr.xxxx. She felt if he was my friend and I could call him Bob, so could she. I never called my parents friends by their first names. Even to this day and they are in their 80s and 90s.
