My friend is thinking about having sex with her boyfriend, but she is only thirteen. She said she was going to be careful. He is fifteen and she is thirteen. I told her that it wasn't even right to do it that young, but then she said, "Why do you expect to live when you are eighteen? You could die tomorrow for all you know. Enjoy it while you have it." Now I am thinking about what she said and I can't get it out of me mind. Is she right?

No. If she wants to use the "You could die tomorrow so enjoy life" excuse, then how about this...

She is basically increasing the risk of her potentially dying at an early age due to possibly catching a disease and so forth. It may not seem possible at the moment, but who knows? If she does it now, more than likely she's going to end up becoming a whore (no offense, but nearly every single one of the girls I know that did this, did in fact become "whores"), at which point she'll easily contract AIDs or something. Or she could even get pregnant, which would take ALL that enjoyment away from her young life.

If you could die tomorrow, would you rather die and leave behind a child that someone else will have to take care of and that will never truly know their mother? Eh?

You can enjoy life without having sex, as I doubt that most of the people that waited until they were older or until marriage to have sex really had miserable lives before that point due to not having sex.

But whatever. If she wants to more than likely end up screwing up her life, then I say she should go for it.

A thirteen year old wanting to have sex is setting herself up for being a future sl ut. And to have sex that young guaranteed she will be pregnate by the time shes eighteen.
However she is right when she said you could die tommorow
but why would you want to have an image that makes you look bad just because you could "die tommorow"

I am 16 on November 11th, and I have sex with my 17 year old b/f (turned 17 today). But even I think you're right because she's only 13 and If I were her I would save my virginity for a guy that TRUELY deserves it, a guy far more special than that. Not saying he isn't serious or anything but...he's at that age where sex is pretty much what he's after..you know what i mean?
So yeh, you are definitly right.

NO your friend is not right she is using the old ( What if I die tomorrow?) trip to justify doing something wrong. If you are a true friend you will talk her out of this bad decision. So many things could happen to her if you truly care for her and yourself please stay away from sex at least until you are 18 you will feel so much better about yourselves being some of the very few that were strong ,confident, intelligent, and proud enough to wait. You girls are so much more than just something for a boy to get pleasure from and believe me that is what this boy wants your friend for she is nothing more than a source of physical pleasure boys will say and do anything to get you into bed with them that is a fact.

You can't let your friends determine when YOU are ready to have sex. When you're ready you'll know. It may not be until you're 18 or 22 or even until you're married but just because she's making the choice to become sexually active at such a young age shouldn't make you feel like you have to be. If she is safe and willing to accept the possible consequences of sex then that's her business. But don't feel like you have to do what she does. And sleeping with a guy that young...it probably won't be that great anyways! :-)

That type of thinking is fatalistic. The reality is that they will live a "fast life" and die young because of the choices they make. Look at all of the people that didn't die before 18! You need to think about the choices you make today and decide whether they may negatively affect your future (beyond 18).

I would say that you should wait until you are a bit older.

But her THEORY is right. So not wait until it is too late to experience life. Life is short. Sex is not the only thing in life however, there are plenty of other things to do that do not end up with you being a 14 year old mother.

How long is her BF gonna hang around when she is pregnant?

Do not sleep with ANYONE you would not marry.

That is way to young. Tell her to think about the consequences of having sex and what could happen. Tell her to wait as long as possible. If the guy is only 15 he only wants sex.

Don't have sex, wait until you are 18 am more mature to handle the consequences that could arise. At 13 or 15 you are no where near mature enough for those types of adult situations. I would say just don't do it!!

No, 13 is way way way too young to be having sex. Her argument could justify just about any behavior. Why not run up my credit cards, I might not be around tomorrow to pay them. Why not cheat on my husband, I might not be around tomorrow to get caught. Why not eat everything I want, I might not live long enough to gain the weight.
