Who is buying the TMX elmo for their child? and how much are they paying for it or selling it for? I do not want one, I think they are a waste of money...All it does is laugh, slap it's leg, falls over, gets back up....It will be in the closet in a few months. I am not buying one.

I bouth two when I first saw how much people were pay for them on Ebay. I have sold one so far, and made 100% profit. I am selling the other one in a few weeks. I am taking that extra money and buying my two kids more or better christmas stuff. A friend had one that she kept, and the kids can't even play with it. When you touch it while it's Laughing, it stops running and gets all goofy. It really isn't a toy. So, i will be making my profit and buy something that they can PLAY with.

People do pay a lot for them! I think many of the people would just do anything to make their child happy, and some people are just rich! They are willing to pay top dollar to be "The First." Its the same people who bought the first CD player for $800 when they first came out, the "early adopters"
The most expensive one on eBay so far sold for $300!
They average is around $80 (2 x the $40 retail) on eBay but go for more or less sometimes.
http://www.findtmx.com has some info on finding them at the best price as well as a list of current ebay prices.

I am with you! I think it's cute, but I'm not going out of my way to buy one, it's not that cute. It will get old really fast, granted it does more than the original Elmo, but how many times can you watch him slap his leg and fall over before it gets boring? Nope, not worth the money or the stress of trying to get one.

both my kids are too old for Elmo, but a lady I know has bought 5 and is selling them on EBay, I too think they are a waste of money, cause like you said within weeks it'll be at the bottom of the closet.

Elmo, the appeal fades quickly with him and most toys. Always a new one waiting. Seems, everyone has Elmo for sale. Luckily, my kids have not asked for him. Don;'t think I would pay the price anyway.

I bought 2 the day it came out because 10 years ago I bought the original one for my daughter and she LOVED it. But the new one was for my son and he could care less. It's not as plush and soft, you can feel the hardware in the legs.
The item my son does love is that "Spider man" doll that stands and sings "Itsy bitsy spider" its soooo cute!

attempt buying one from places that don't "often" sell toys. i offered 3 at my community food market (walmart, purpose, kmart & toys r us are bought OUT) I additionally understand that some Walgreens has them additionally. i might get one speedy in case you choose one or you will finally end up spending a fortune on eBay for one.
