I agree that the face cover might be a barrier, but I think it's the attitude not the look what makes someone approachable or not. Believe me, it's how friendly you are with people not how you dress.
About meeting our husbands, majority of Muslim women do not cover their faces. For those who cover, it's usually arranged marriages, and rarely after falling in love (despite the cover).
Our life is not like what you think of it :)

I think that anything that covers a person up makes them less approachable. And I think that it also affects the women, as well, since they are approached less.
I don't think it is a major thing, though, just a bias. I don't feel threatened in any way by them.
It might be uncomfortable talking to them in the way it would be uncomfortable talking to a man with a duck on his head. You don't really want to bring up the duck in conversation, because obviously the man has a reason for it being there and would tell you about it if he wished to. However, you think he probably realizes you are purposely avoiding mentioning the duck. And throughout the conversation, it is impossible to keep from checking out the duck surreptitiously, and wondering what's it's like to have a duck on your head for so long.

Why are you wanting to approach a veiled woman? what for? If you are a man there has to be a genuine reason to approach her? If you are a woman and want to approach her, you just treat her the same as you would any other woman. But for males you have to have one heck of a good reason.....Veiled women do so through choice, to please God.....there is nothing to be threatened by.

I don't talk to people that wear masks....
They make me afraid.
I suppose the mussies are going to get pissed off at me for that. but it's too f ing bad. they will call it religious discrimination but I don't talk to people wearing masks. And if her husband is there, I can't talk to him either.
They shouldn't try to impose that religious stuff on me.

You don't approach a woman with full veil. This muslim traditions, and if you want to talk to her, you must have a compnay of woman to initiate the conversation.
When God created Human being, they were naked and is not ashamed of themselves, but during the fall, they become malicious because of sins. and they began to cover their body (not face). So God kill an animal and make for them cloth to cover their body by an animal skin.
In Christianity, Face are not covered, but they are instructed to cover their head. and dress decently in public. Men are not allowed to have long hair, becasue this is a disgrace to him.
Since Man is the head of the woman, Jesus is the head of man.
