I was wondering if anyone had any good songs or artists for music to be played at a wedding, not neccesarily for dancing though. Some of my favorite so far include people like Etta James, Nat King Cole, Norah Jones, Frank Sinatra. Do you know of any other music I would like?

If you like Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra try Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, or Bobby Darrin.

I had the O'Neill Brother's Piano Duo (http://www.pianobrothers.com) CDs: A day to Remember Vol I and II which I used for my ceremony. Some of the songs would be pretty for a reception too.

For the reception? Michael Bublè and Diana Krall are great (and CANADIAN) and Rod Stewart has a bunch of CDs out singing some old classics. and Louis Armstrong. I played a mix of old and new at my wedding - every song however was a love song : James Taylor (Whenever I see your Smil'n Face) Van Morrison ("Moondance" , "Have I told you lately", and my favorite "Someone Like you")., Elton John ("Your song"), Jim Croce ("Time in a Bottle"), Billy Joel ("Piano Man"), and Chantal Kreviazuk ("Feels Like Home"), Bruce Springstein ("Secret Garden"), Frank Sinatra ("Love and Marriage" and "Fly Away With Me", You Look Wondderful", "Had to Be You") Norah Jones "Come Away with me" and "Sunrise"), Sarah McLaughlin ("Blackbird"), Michael Bublè ("Home"), Etta James ("At Last"), Louis Armstrong ("Wonderful World") are a few examples...

CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES!

These people don't necessarily sing the kind of "classic, elegant" music like Etta James, Frank Sinatra et. al. but they are what I like to call contemporary, calm singers. It's not bubble gum pop and it's not really depressing folk either---

Damien Rice
Heather Nova
Katheleen Edwards
Sondre Lerche

Try pandora.com.

It's website where you put in a song or an artist that you love and they create a radio station that streams songs similar to the one you put in. It's great for discovering new artists and songs that are in the same genre as your faves. It's like having your own personal DJ.

Oh, and it's free...

Try the theme from the Godfather. It sounds unusual until you read the words.
