The mirror will reflect light that would normally shine onto the wall, so there would be more light energy in the room - but you may find the warming glow of the candle flickering against the wall is much nicer.

The amount of light energy in the room would not increase but the overall area affected by the light would increase, the only drawback would be the space behind the mirror where the light is unable to penetrate.

there is an increase in noticeable light but only because the mirror reflects the light given off which is normally shone onto less reflective surfaces such as walls or materials.
It is the same prinicple as putting mirrors around the bulb in a lighthouse or a car headlight.
However is it wrong to say you have twice the energy, as you are just being more efficient with it. I think the mirror will reflect over 95% back as light, so if you kept adding mirrors the candle reflection would eventually grow dimmer.
there was one man in victorian times who lit his whole house by having one central bulb and mirrored tubed to carry light to various other parts of the building.

You can't increase the actual amount of light. You can only focus it.

If you put a mirror on opposite walls you would see an infinite number of candles. Would the room be as bright as the sun?

No. The candle puts out a certain amount of light, measured in Lumens. Putting a mirror behind the candle will reflect that amount of light that would have lit the area behind the mirror.

It works, but two things to watch out for, it may crack the mirror (the heat from the candle). and be careful you dont burn the place down.

No you still only have one candlepower. Also it's a reflection, not a reflector. A reflector would reflect some light in another direction but you would loose it from behind the reflector- still only one candlepower though.
