What is an average cost to have a tooth crowned? It's a back molar if that makes a difference.?

Other variables: materials used in the crown (all gold, porcelain fused to metal, all porcelain, etc.), cost of living in your zip code, experience of the dentist, technology used in dental practice, and more.

For the root canal and gold crown for back molar I received a quote of $150 and $325 respectively.

The crown will cost between 500 - 800 dollars. This does not include the root canal, if necessary.
It doesn't matter what tooth it is.

There are a lot of variables here, such as your copay on your dental program. Also, the cost may be more if you have to have a root canal first. I have had to pay as much as $600 for such a procedure in the past, over and above what my insurance paid.

i don't think it matters what teeth it is! It depends where you live too! I paid $ 950 for the crown in NYC i think they cost anywhere from $600 - $ 1000
