No, it's actually quite disgusting. I don't know WHY anyone would buy pet food from a vet...these products have little nutritional value and your vet is making a huge profit by charging you a fortune.

Here is what you are feeding your dog:
-CORN GRITS (Corn grits would be considered a grain fraction, missing its complete host of nutrients - cheap filler)
-BREWERS RICE (Brewer's rice is a lower quality rice product that is missing many of the nutrients found in ground rice and ground brown rice - cheap filler)
-CHICKEN BY-PRODUCTS (feet, heads, organs, feather, etc. These come from rendering plants and provide little to no digestible protein - they are there as a filler)
-CHICKEN (this is good but should be the first ingredient)
-FISH MEAL (this should be a specific type of fish. Only companies hiding something don't label the fish type)
-DRIED BEET PULP (this is a filler and common allergen that often upsets the dogs digestive system)
-NATURAL CHICKEN FLAVOUR (okay)
-DRIED EGG PRODUCT (shells and eggs not fit for human consumption)
-CHICKEN FAT (okay)

This food has very little nutritional value. Vets prescribe what they are told when in college...Hills Science Diet and Proctor and Gamble (Eukanuba) fund these colleges!!!! Wonder why there is bias?

So, here are the ingredients of Innova which is by far one of the best foods on the market.

Innova Adult:
Turkey
Chicken
Chicken Meal
Ground Barley
Ground Brown Rice
Potatoes
Natural Flavors
Ground White Rice
Chicken Fat
Herring
Apples
Carrots
Cottage Cheese
Sunflower Oil
Alfalfa Sprouts
Egg
Garlic

These ingredients are ALL whole, fresh, human grade products. Natura, the company that makes Innova, surpasses other companies for quality because of the ingredients they use but also because they will only produce a bag of food when it has been order. Take a guess at how long your bag of Eukanuba will sit in a warehouse before you purchase it....

Anyways, if you want your dog to be healthy and free of health problems, you need to feed a high quality food made with fresh ingredients that are going to promote good health.

Other good foods include: Wellness, Fromm, Merrick, Solid Gold, Evolve, Canidae, EAgle Pack Holistic, etc. Stay AWAY from generic or mass market companies...they're in it for the money only and don't care what goes into the foods.

To Precii....take a look at the ingredient lists for Eukanuba...Corn is either the first or second ingredient in most of their formulas...EUKANUBA IS NOT THE BEST FOOD...I hope you look at the ingredients I've posted for Innova and realize that Euk doesn't even come close.

Eukanuba has a low residue food mix which is more effective than the regular Eukanuba in the shops. A lot of dogs have problems with the amounts of soy and fillers in their dog food.

Solid Gold is the best for digestion problems and allergies:

I found Solid Gold on the Internet when my dog developed arthritis so bad he could hardly walk and now he is doing great. There are thousands of testimonies on Solid Gold from dog and cat owners: Solid Gold is the BEST.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://tinyurl.im/aHLtq

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Eukanuba is an excellent food. I start all of my puppies on it and I have all of my show dogs on it. The university animal clinic has told me it is an excellent food as well.

Try it, if your dogs looks great on and benefits from it, then it is a good food for your dog. There are always dogs that don't do as well on certain foods and benefit more from different brands. Try the Eukanuba and if it isn't doing what you hoped then gradually switch to another premium food. There are several excellent brands.

I want to add, if Eukanuba was a "disgusting" food, then the top breeders in this country would not be feeding it to their dogs. We try different foods and exercises, we strive for the best health for our dogs. Eukanuba spends millions every year on their product development and their dog shows They have become very well respected for their commitment to the dog community. If the food was that bad we would not feed it to our dogs. It is easy for someone to come in and say that breeders and vets don't know what they are talking about, but we spend years, decades, working with our dogs and achieve the highest health for them. Many with Eukanuba. There are several good dog foods.
There are many breeds that you should not feed a food to that starts with protein, and some that you should. Some benefit from corn being the top ingredient. I feel that a nutritionist should be working with vets and breeders, not against them. That is too bad that person feels that way. By offending breeders and vets that have more experience than he/she, she has lost respect and possible clients. I know I would be open to someone suggesting supplements or offering suggestions, but not when they completely dis more experienced people. That's sad.

Here is the actual ingredient list on Eukanuba puppy, the most common of their puppy foods.

Chicken
Chicken by product meal
Ground whole grain sorgham
Chicken fat
Fish meal
Natural chicken flavor
Brewers Rice
Beet Pulp (sugar removed)
Dried Egg
Fish oil
Then the rest of the list is composed of vitamins added.

This is straight off the package, it does not look whatsoever like what is written above.

I have no idea about "low residue" dog food but, generally, Eukanuba is supposed to be one of the best dog foods you can feed your dog. A good dog food will list a meat as the first ingredient. (Which is true for Eukanuba) Most dog foods list corn meal (which is just a filler) as the first ingredient.

I bought Eukanuba for my dog and he actually wouldn't eat it! The good thing with them is that I was able to call them and get a refund because my dog didn't like it, which is great considering how expensive it is.
