At the restaurant I used to work at we tried both baking soda and flour. They both some how started on fire, which supposedly isn't possible. Smoothering it is the best way. We used a large pan and a spatchula.

Depends on how big it is, if it's just a chip pan a damp rag and smother it, do not relift the rag just turn off power supply and get out. If bigger and uncontrollable then just get out and call fire brigade.

BAKING SODA/or POWDER, or any kind of powder, but thats the way i do it, theres gotta be a better way, especially if it is a big one or in an oven
