First, you must find an employer willing to sponsor you.

Your employer will submit all the necessary paperwork and pay all the fees involved.

Getting a US Visa qualifies you to work and live in the US.Get your visa, then come to the US and you'll get your greencard which expires after 10yrs by then you'll have been a citizen which takes 5yrs of continuous stay in the US.
Remember,go to the american embassy in your country for application form to apply. You must have a profession, passport of your birth country, birth certificate, police crime report, medical insurrance and some cash. All these will be requested by the US embassy.Don't rush to gather all these documents because they will give you a list of hospitals to go for medical exams(vaccinations,x ray and blood test) and the police report expires after six months. It is quite a hustle....but i'm sure you will be through. However, never give any wrong information when applying for US visa, they will find out.Good luck

Do you have a family member who is a US citizen who can sponsor you? If you do then get the paperwork from a US immigration office and fill it out. You are going to need a lot of documents about your birth, passport, etc.

You can also apply to get into the green card lottery:

Getting a green card is a long process and takes time. You have to have a sponsor who will pledge to support you for ten years; this is usually expected to be a relative of yours.

You will be thoroughly investigated and so will your sponsor.

It is not easy to get a green card. It took us over 3 years to get one for my husband. He is French and we married without knowing how difficult it would be to keep him in the US, but eventually we worked everything out and he has been here 9 years now.
