You may not know because you have fallen astray. Christians know the truth. WE know what we know, is what we know.

because when you've been on the brink of hell and had a small glimpse of it. therefore, 1 knows what lies beyond the grave, and therefore 1 knows what the truth is. so, until 1 has literally "been there" mans opinion of himself will never change.
just think... one day you're walking across the crosswalk and Bam! or someone runs a red light, or gets hit by a dui. next thing you're "on the brink" and what you see and feel is beyond comprehension and you do everything to get away from it. It's inexplicibale, unimaginable, and it's just not a "good thing".
to >choose< to accept God is to stand on the brink of something else that is so overwhelming and that is the total opposite of the above mentioned and 1 knows within their heart, soul, mind and bones that it does exist. And to see the foolishness of mans own way, and 1 having "been there" do those of us try and tell the rest that it does exist.

The real truth is life.
Birth is the beginning of truth, death is the end of truth and life is everything in between.

Finally! I've heard from a person that I can relate to on this issue. In discussions with people of faith, my contention has been that No one has the absolute answers. I've also asked any of these people to present empirical verifiable proof. Also asked to make this proof available to one and all. So far no takers, why do we persist in this foolishness? In matters of faith and belief All of us have the right to make choices and decisions. That, as I understand it is why we all have Brains! No person or group of people have the right to force others to believe as they do. Enforced conversions, or agreements will Never last. Read your history books! No one really knows, and I state this from first hand knowledge. I've had 3 near death experiences, and do not with any certainty believe that I got anything Provable from them, just personal enrichment.

If there is no proof that their is life after death (there is none) then it is assumed that there is no life after death. Things don't have to be disproven to not exist. Not having proof is enough to classify something as not being real. This is the case with god, leprechauns, flying pigs from cloud 9, etc.

No one can prove that there is life after death, no one. Religion is a $3 billion dollar a year "belief business".
