Ok, my friend with benefits (no strings attached) calls me today and tells me that he has a STD but I am ok because he slept with one else after me. We use protection but I still feel the need to go get checked out?

I strongly recommend that you go get yourself checked out. This is something very serious and should not be taken lightly...

Hopefully everything will be ok but you need to be SURE everything is ok. Good luck!

If you are showing no signs of an STD, chances are you are in the clear. You used protection - another mark for the better on your part.

I would still go get checked out (which I noticed you edited with your appt date).

Now, as a note, sure if he got the STD from the girl he slept with AFTER you, you are ok - but when you sleep with someone, you are being exposed to everything and everyone they (and you) have slept with previously and so on and so forth.

Good Luck!

No harm in that. I'd suggest you go get checked...and continue using protection with whomever you're with. A regular check for STD's is always a good idea anyway. Good Luck. (by the way...you may want to discontinue relations with him until he's been treated--it's good he let you know...that must have been a hard call to make). So...if you like him don't condemn him for it and let him know you appreciated being informed. But don't wait...schedule an appt. ASAP and get tested so you'll know where your health stands.

....friends with benefits is a TERRIBLE idea. I hope you learned your lesson from this! People who do friends with benefits will sleep with just about ANYONE. GET CHECKED OUT. That's serious. You could have AIDS for Heaven sakes! Make an appointment ASAP.

I think you should still get checked. You can never be too safe. If he slept with someone before you, the STD could have came from them. You never know. So I think get checked ASAP!

Sounds like you need a different friend with benefits. Go to your local health department, no appointment needed, and you'll get an answer quickly.

Definately get checked out!
While at this point you might not be able to prove who gave what to her I would be extremely careful. Even if this STD is treatable continue to use protection until you are SURE he is not cheating on you. Trust is wonderful, but herpes is forever.

Happy VD free turkey day. You will be fine. STDs are only spread by the little green men I see every morning in my mirror.
