Sallman originally painted this portrait in 1890; since yours is a litho and printed in 1941, it's a reproduction.

But that doesn't really mean anything. I'm sure it gives you peace and is wonderful for reflection on God's love. So it's invaluable, isn't it?

Peace.

Hi, I would like to point out to others on your behalf that you do not mean that there is an original picture of Christ in Gethsemane perhaps done by an artist who was there at the time.
the litho process when used usually means that thousands of copies were made at the time so the chances are that,no you do not have a first print picture.
regards.

Altho "litho" is a copy, it could be from a limited production. Does it indicate a copy number (like 14/500 or 14 of 500)?

You could also chat with an art appraiser.

I am not absolutely sure of this, but I believe the fact that it says lithograph indicates that it is indeed a reproduction.
Maybe someone with a little more knowledge than me will chime in soon.

Contact the printer. The info you provided should be sufficient.
