traps on your property. catch a couple of them and the owners might keep them closer to their own home.

You could possibly talk to your local animal shelter/animal patrol about what your options are. I had my two dogs cited for the same thing and when they came to my house they told me all the regulations and the fine iwas pretty stiff. I had no idea my dogs were being a nuisance because my kids left them out after school before I arrived home from work. Irregardless of whether you live in the country or city setting, it is illegal for dogs to run lose. Maybe these ineighbors do not know their dogs are causing a problem. The animal patrol can step in and take care of this problem for you and then you do not have to be the bastard neighbor that lives next door if you do it yourself. Good luck.

I live in the country and know what you mean - only I am so used to it that it doesn't even bother me. Usually, it is the fenced dogs
(not the free-roamers) that do the barking, because they are confined and bored. Taking them in the house usually cures this, but I doubt your neigbors will go that far. I really don't think its worth getting in a huge spat with neighbors/police/animal control. Try some noise-blocking gadget and try to ignore the situation. Who knows? All this racket from the dogs may have kept intruders out of your house.

Buy a gun and let everyone know that you are really itching to learn how to shoot, and any targets they send over to your yard would be most welcome.
Or call the authorities, or if the dogs come onto your property, bring them back to the owners and demand a ransom. You just taxied their dogs back, you should be paid for gas money, and time and effort.
Or just drop 'em off at the nearest pound and let their owners deal with bringing them home.

You could do what we do, we play loud rock music all day and all night long to drown them out. Or you can sneak up to their door with a recorded tape of their dogs barking, put it at full blast and play it at the wee hours of the morning, and do this for many nights, just take off when they show up.
If you haven't already, have a chat with the neighbors before any of this is done.

Sleep with a fan running near your bed. The bigger the fan, the better. A large box fan is ideal, and it doesn't have to be blowing on you at all. It will create a "background noise" that you eventually won't hear at all once you're used to it, and you won't hear a darn other thing going on around you.

if you can catch the little barkers in your yard, throw water on them. Other wise, call the cops every night after 11 and complain. The owners will/should get a ticket for disturbing the peace.

That SUCKS.. I'm sure the owners will not do anything about it. We have some barking dogs also and we are right across the street from city limits.. Know how you feel...

I have many suitable recipes, perhaps you should post them around your neighbors,so that they may understand there is a solution to the matter. But first give them notice that loose and free running dogs are considered a delicacy at your home..
