Mark 5:39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
the first death is considered a sleep, as everyone will arise in one of two Resurrections. The Resurrection of the just or 1000 years later the Resurrection of the wicked. The wicked will die a second death, which is the death that Jesus tasted for all of us:
Rev. 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

When you are born, the journey to death has already began. Death has different meaning to different people, religions, cultures.
Death is one of the most beautiful phenomenon we all have to go through. Its the celebration of life. why? old is discarded and new is accepted. Change. natural law of change. death renews life, take it to a new horizon. it makes life beautiful, worth living for.
with death nothing comes to an end. just look in nature, everything changes. the trees, grass, plants, flower, animals, birds, mountains - everything changes takes new forms. just imagine what will happen no one dies. earth will become hell. thats why death is a beautiful phenomenon.

To my knowledge death is there for the body but not to the 'Atman'.The reason for birth is to obtain salvation. But it cannot happen at one instance, it is a process through which every one has to go.Death is there even for animals, insects and all living beings on this earth. But it is only the human who has the power of discrimination and the power to elevate from a lower level to a higher level. This elevation cannot take place in one life or two.So the nature or God has given seven life's to elevate from the lower level to a higher level as Lord Krishna says.Every death is a step to higher elevation through control over our senses. We should try to elevate our self by taking birth on this earth,so we should try to follow the principles of Satya Dharma, and Nyaya in our life.As there is decline in these three in ones life his next birth takes a rude birth in which he\she suffers the outcomes of the earlier birth. So death to the life is inevitable.Let us try to be good,do good and help others to the extent we can.

To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord - if you are saved. It is the beginning, not the end, for Christians. For nonbelievers, it is also the beginning but that would be an eternity separated from God in a place called Hell. Choose Jesus - He conquered death - so can we. It is the beginning.

The end of life simply. All living things die, all dead things stay dead. To say exactly when something is dead, is a much harder debate, but I think the definition of death is when one thing previously defined as livng, no longer can be classified as living and can never return to the classification of living again.
A religous view point would likely say something to the means of the end of human or physical existence, but the beginning of some sort of spirt/soul/rebirth ''life".

Death is the entry into anti-life. Anti-life is when a person ceases to exist on this plane of existence, but exists theoretically, on another. For it is not called life in another dimension, it's called... well... I don't rightly know, but life it would not be.
It's hard to describe 'death' without at first experiencing it yourself. Can't be of much help, as I have not 'died.'

Death is the length of our life spam. It will vary according to our health condition. Life on earth is temporary and it could be considered as a trial of God as how faithful and thankful for God's benevolence in creating us. As God had provided heaven
and Hell as a reward to those with good faiths or evils. It is the God where our soul will return, our soul will never die in the eternity.
