I'm learning about RF and would like a slide rule so I can easily look at measurements and power and things easily whilst testing rather then working it out or using a computer.

If you have access to a copy of the ARRL handbook, there are several nomographs in there for RF calculations. Not exactly a slide rule, but it will do the job. I copied the graphs and laminated them. Then I use a dry erase marker to line up the data points and read the results.

Slide rules have become rather antique collectible treasures. I saw a couple at the largest thrift shop in town a couple of years ago, but I'm sure the best ones are getting good prices on eBay.

Never forget collectors when you are looking for some treasure of the past. Before there are antique dealers and huge prices, and after they are no longer being manufactured, obsolete equipment of all kinds, including precision instruments, go through the "collectibles" phase. The ones in the best condition will show up in second-hand shops for awhile, and the prices will go up as the best ones are grabbed by foresightful collectors.

Today's second-hand store find is tomorrow's treasured antique.

Good luck. Good slide rules are getting rare quickly.

I have two awesome slide rules - one is a short one [15 cm] and one is a huge one [about 45cm] but their mine and unfortunately you cant have them. I inherited the big one from my Dad - you should try asking people aged 50+ if they have one - you never know!
