You are under Satans control. Be still and know that he is Lord.

The first 4 mean nothing....and there are exceptions to:
5-they may not deserve it.
6-what should we do with child rapers, and mass killers.
7-well.....they may deserve it
8-If the government taxes you insanely (like before the revolutionary war) or worse, then it is fine. Or if you are taking back what is yours.
9-If I see someone kill a kid, and then they are accused of killing someone else, and I know they did not....I would say they did, to bring justice for the other murder.
10-What is wrong with coveting? Coveting drives you to get things. Else we would only have food, water, and shelter.

I could go on, but those commandments could be better. The first 4 are just about controlling people for political purposes. If there were written by god, he sure has an ego. How about thou shalt not rape, or counterfeit (not stealing), etc.

Not killing makes plenty of sense, adultery causes problems, lying sucks, and being good to your mum and dad is certainly a good idea where applicable. Jealousy just wastes your time. Thieving's pretty bad too.

I think that kind of makes 6/10.

There again, I'm a Humanist, so not really biased for or against the One God thing.

As for the Sabbath, it would be nice to have a day of rest and meditation ensconced in society and the law.

Arguing about religion just tires me, it's where wars start.

If you interpret the commandments in a secular way, it's only #3 that makes little sense. I like a nice 'graven image' myself!

So maybe kind of 8/10 in an ideal world!

Get high. Then you won't be able to worship other gods, nor take any names at all for any purpose whatsoever. Neither will you be carving images and you'll definatly be chilling out on every day. I never saw a high person kill anyone, you prolly can't even squeez the trigger, your littleman won't be too active either, you can't lift stuff let alone steal something. You won't even know who your neighbor is and won't be coveting anything but pizza.

If your parents are layed back you can even fulfill that one.

At the very least, I'd go more like 50 or 60%.

1 through 4 fairly obviously, 5 even if they are abusive ? 7 doesn't mean what most people think it means and without 10 there goes the Capitalist system.

80% 5 and 6 are the only ones that make a whole lot of sense to me........but then again I believe in my own fairy tales.....not necessary the ones that the majority believe. Go now sheep, follow the flock.

All of the Commandments are common sense, which leads many to wonder why non-believers have such a problem with them.

well, my answer is of course that 100% of the commandments have purpose and meaning....or else they wouldn't be in the Bible.....my question is which 40% are you referring to and why have you even said such a thing?
