Guys are seen as really good at keeping secrets because once they get caught out, they've been keeping them for a really long time. It's basically because they know how to keep their traps shut. They also have very bad memories for the most part so tell them a secret about a girlfriend and they'll never repeat it because hey - they honestly weren't listening so they don't remember a word we said! It's just their nature - practical, to the point, and no unecessary shinanigans - you gotta love 'em!

Now - US girls, however are not seen as good at keeping secrets because; Get this; they go to the grave with us! So no-one ever finds out there WERE any secrets in the first place - hence the illusion that we are no good at keeping them.


Now Shhhhhh.... don't tell anyone!! Don't believe me, then ask any real girl friend -a true blue one, not a pre-adult re-living their teenage fantasies, they will tell you it's true. When girls bond, they share secrets that they will never disclose to another soul, not even in torture! Heck- there are things I know that would rip the hemispheres, but they will descend those granules of ground with me. I'll NEVER tell. And the illusion shall be perpetuated, for the good of mankind!

Well men in general are just like women. We all keep secrets, I think the fact that you are thinking that men are very secretive that you need to find a new man or that you are keeping secrets yourself and now are paranoid about it. Secrets are necessary. I guess it depends on what kind of secret it is. If you are talking about "who I am kissing" secrets, if you feel that way ask him about it. Hopefully he will be responsive. Or maybe you are insecure about yourself and you are always thinking that he is keeping a secret. If you think that he is always keeping a secret, you need to ditch him or work on your self esteem. There are also secrets that you have no rights digging into. Like family problems etc... You need to think to yourself " Is this secret really going to effect my relationship if I know what it is, or will it affect my behavior if I don't know what it is."

I don't think they are good at keeping secrets. LoL Everytime my guy tries to lie or keep a secret he gets this certain smile and I know he is fibbing to me. All you have to do is pay very close attention and he'll let something out that lets you know that it isn't the truth. Unless they are the type to lie and then actually start believing it is true! :o)

Because what seems like a big deal to a woman in absolutely meaningless to a guy! Besides that, they can't remember to take the trash out, do you really think they are going to remember your secret!

I am female but my guess it has to do with the fact men are not natural born "feeling sharers" and because secrets tend to stir emotion - yeah, those get bottled up as well.

But truly, anyone who has a secret is going to do their best to keep it, regardless of gender.

sometimes its a good thing sometimes its a bad thing
i like knowing that i have someone to confide in , and usually if you find the right guy they will confide all their secrets in you no matter what it is.
but like i said, use it to your advantage, confide in them

because they have no ear for detail, like women do. They forget a lot of things as soon as they hear them, women, whereas, can remember the most minute details forever. Also, men don't think it's important to go around talking these things, but women get a big kick out of it.

Guys aren't as vocal anyway so it's easier to hold things in. Like when you ask us what we're thinking and we say "I dunno," it's just like that with us. It's not that we have no heart all - how else could we keep secrets if we didn't care for whoever's secret it is?

because we were raised different. you ladies have different categories of secrets and then there's that competition thing to be the first to know something about someone and needing to tell someone to prove it.

i used to hate going to work because all the women would want to tell me the things they weren't supposed to tell anyone. because they had to tell someone before they would explode or something. I on the other hand didn't care but it bothered me, made me ill eventually and I retired.
