Thanks for putting this almost universal experience in our lives in verse.
College life is an entirely new phase in our lives. We are on the threshhold of manhood/womanhood in its most practical sense. We leave the boundaries of school life to which we were accustomed for 12 or more precious years of our lives. That, together with the unknown experience of what college life is going to be like, arouses a dread in us.
But slowly we get accustomed to this life. Its carefreeness and unadulterated joys. New friends and maybe some from our school days as well. Maybe a nice girlfriend as well. Dreams in our eyes of making it big. And looking forward to that day when we will be working and earning. Saying goodbye to such a life and entering the complicated real life is painful indeed.
