There are many reasons for a person to become obese. Health problems, like Thyroid or Diabetes. Or a disease that prohibits you from being able to dispel calories, or to exercise.
But, there are also ways to help control these things with a doctors help if the person chooses. medications and diet are a couple choices.
If the person decides not to accept a plan that helps them, then they are setting themselves up for many health problems. Heart disease being front and center. Muscular problems, lung and other vital organ problems. Not being able to get the exercise needed to burn extra calories. There are also mental problems like depression that come along with it.
My personal opinion....you can choose to control it and live..or ignore it and lose your life and the people in it.........its a choice.

" I think that obesity is within ones control. You have to eat ALOT of calories to maintain that kind of weight. Those people have some thing else wrong and are self medicating with food"
First off I want to say that this opinion is not accurate... there are people out there that may not be able to control their weight.. there are health conditions such as thyroid problems that, without diagnosis and MEDICAL treatment from a doctor can make it almost impossible to loose or gain weight. With hypothyroidism you gain weight because the thyroid doesnt produce the right amount of chemical to help the body regulate foods your body takes in from bad to good so your body's metabolism is slower to get rid of the bad stuff contained in food.
Obesity has many cons.. type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, and stroke.
Those are the medical risks... we are not even looking at the social cons of obesity... large people are shunned by a society wich believes that "Thin is Beautiful". If you are overweight you ultimatly expierence depression, low self esteem, some extremely obese people entertain thoughts of suicide; there is the feeling of complete lonliness stemming from the low self esteem and isolation of the weight.

My opinion is that obesity is a choice that people make at some point and forget that there's a choice to be a healthy weight as well. I also believe that people who are obese lack will power and/or have psychological problems because they are knowingly and controlably killing themselves on a daily basis. It takes work to be that big. If obese people ate only healthy food in whatever quantity they wanted, the worst they would be is overweight, not obese.

in case you'll debate this topic, it type of feels that the status quo argument is instantly ahead. yet the different part i'd base on "what did they comprehend or perhaps as did they comprehend it". As time has surpassed by technique of we've discovered that quick nutrients places are poisoning us, and they are doing it so easily that we won't be able to take all those well being clams heavily that let us know that they don't seem serving us nutrients yet weight problems, cancer, heart ailment and so on. The eating places are sparkling and the nutrients is served up so quite and pleasing how can we believe that it really is undesirable? They declare so long because it really is achieved sparsely it isn't that undesirable, in spite of the indisputable fact that it really is. a twin of smoking, is it okay to smoke sparsely, no it isn't human nature to finish a touch issues sparsely, you both smoke or do not, your body receives addicted and also you'll smoke as a lot as your addicted body needs. it really is an same for nutrients. This quick crap has were given to go. it really is the tact i'd take in case you'll argue the contrarian part.

Besides dropping dead of a heart attack or waking up tomorrow with diabetes or kidney failure I can't think of a thing.
This is what encouraged me to lose 198 pounds.
