Uhh....because this country was founded on people's right to do and be whatever they want. Last time I looked "gays" were just as capable of being in the military as a heterosexual. And as for Muslim's, I do believe we are allowed to practice whatever religion we so choose, kind of the reason we got away from England. And not all Muslim's are extremists.

Put down the ice pipe and back away slowly. The US military has a don't ask don't tell policy in regards to gays. That means if gays say nothing about being gay the Armed services will not persue questions into their sex life. However if a person tell a recruiter up front that he or she is gay that person is rejected. If a person who is already in the service does or says something that indicates they are gay and an investigation bears it out that person is discharged.
Please provide us with some proof of your crazy contention that the military is activly recruiting gays.
As far as recruiting moslems. Moslems who are US citizens or US resident aliens over so many years in country are eligible to join the US military just like any other group. If equal application under the law is your version of "political correctness" then I guess that's what it is.

Since when are the armed forces "actively recruiting" gays???!!! I don't know where you've been, but this is absolutely not true. Not that I think gays shouldn't serve their country, but they are not allowed to be openly gay in the military.
Nor is the military actively recruiting Muslims. They ARE recruiting people who speak Arabic or the other languages of the middle east as translators, but that doesn't necessarily make them a Muslim (or a terrorist, if that is what you are implying.)

that is a damned good question, I would be very nervous if I was on patrol in Afghanistan or Iraq and had a Muslim in my patrol, their religion and patriotism is for Islam , the ones who have thrown grenades into American barracks and who have tried to blow up planes etc some American born? would you be nervous?
where in the world did the name gay derive from for miserable queers, if they were gay they would be normal, but if we put them on the front lines and tell the Taliban or Iraqis Arabs to come on over for the party it just might work, what do you think ? good idea or bad?? Don't worry to much the ones who left Arabia are the scared ones and they are not about to join the military,

you're speaking as if army recruiters actually go out and look for these people. if that's the case, i'd love to see your evidence to back up this theory.
the american armed forces, just like most employers, are equal opportunity. it's against the law to deny someone's enlistment on the basis of sexual orientation or religious preference. if anything has "gone too far", it's your biggotry.

Gays heve always wanted equal rights so why not? i would send a bunch over to Irak. If they have arms and legs they can hold a weapon and fight. If it comes between a straight and I gay I rather have the gay killed. im sure thats close to your line of tinking since your question suggest you think of gays as second class citizens
