I was In Calcutta for nearly 30 years and toured extensively in West Bengal. after that 5 years I stayed in Chennai and now for the past 3 years in Bangalore. While I was in Calcutta I have visited Delhi, Bombay, Rajasthan and other states on official tour several times.
The conclusions according to me is - The BEST and SWEET is Bengal and Bengali, like its sweets, people, behavior etc.
I do not know why I like Bengali and Bengal so much - is it due to the reason of staying such a long time there? I do not think so. I am from Tamilnadu. I can talk Tamil, Kanada, Hindi, English apart from understanding Oriya, Telugu, Malayalam, Marwari. Still BENGALI IS THE SWEETEST.
Thanks for giving an oppurtunity to express my feeling.

Telugu is the only language other than Sanskrit which has the linguistic prakriya (literature game) called Avadhana, which disappeared in other languages with the passage of time. Languages also have become more and more simple and adopted simple pronunciations, the reason for some typical sounds of Telugu being missing in many other languages.
Sri Krishnadeva Raya has said "Desa bhashalandu Telugu Lessa" which means "Among the nation's languages, Telugu is the best". Rabindranath Tagore is said to have stated that Telugu is the sweetest of all (Indian) Languages. The famous Tamil poet Subramania Bharati also has sung thus "Sundara Telunginil Pattisaithu" which literally means "Sing in beautiful Telugu".
Being a mellifluous language, British authors in the 19th century called Telugu, Italian of the East. It is believed that Italian explorer Niccolò Da Conti, who visited Vijayanagara empire during the reign of Vira Vijaya Bukka Raya in the fifteenth century, coined the phrase.
According to linguists, Proto-Dravidian gave rise to 21 Dravidian languages. They can be broadly classified into three groups: Northern group, Central group, and Southern group of Dravidian languages. The central group consists of ten languages, out of which only Telugu became a civilized language and the rest of the nine languages remained tribal languages. Telugu is the most widely spoken language of the Dravidian family which consists of 24 languages spanning all of South Asia, from Baluchistan to Sri Lanka.

I think the question is wrong. it should be "is bengali sweet (and not sweetest) language?" because there are many languages which sound very sweet to ears-bengali, punjabi, bhojpur, urdu just to name a few.
i think marathi and gujarati are also lovely.
but again, this is a completlely personal choice.
