Does anyone know of any programs for kids in Walworth County (Wisconsin) that the county or state provides for low income families or where I can find out? I would love to get my daughter involved in more activities but I don't have the funds. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Start with the Department of Human Services. Depending on her age, you can get a lot of info regarding children's programs:

If she is 3-5 headstart is a federally funded preschool and an excellent program:

If she is older-is there aYMCA in your area? They have lots of things for kids and financial assistance if you're income eligible. And the girl scouts is always great for little girls:

You might want to start by checking with your state-funded Department of Children's Services. They would surely have an office in your county. Also Google "Walworth County Wisconsin child advocacy", and see what sites you get. I know for us here in TN, we have a program centered in Nashville simply called the Children's Advocacy Program, and it's run through state Medicaid.

I certainly hope that helps, and feel free to email me if you need further assistance.

There's probably a 4H or a Scouting type thing you could get her involved in. I don't think either of those costs much. Other than that, your county / town might have a website with things going on. Allot of times local libraries have events for kids too.

Contact your local United Way, they should be able to tell you of any programs that may be out there.
