It depends on how much you drank, and how your tolerance is. But the hangover can be worse. Anyhow, usually you don't feel normal until after a good night sleep. If you drink during the day I'd bet you'll feel sober within about 2 hours after you stop (in general). Drink lots of water.

Your body takes alcohol in fairly quickly, but it gets rid of it slower than you may think. Your Blood Alcohol Content is a common indicator of how drunk you are. Your BAC decreases by .01% every hour. At .08%, you are legally drunk. BAC is calculated by how much blood is in a body of a person of a certain weight. This does not change, and tolerance has absolutely nothing to do with how much alcohol is in your blood.

Here's an example. I am 160 lbs and I have had 8 beers in 3 hours. My BAC is.14% - Almost twice the legal limit in the US. If it is 12:00AM when I stop drinking, It will be sometime between 6-7AM before I am below the legal limit, and it will be after 2PM before my body has processed all the alcohol.

There are certain things you can do to try to sober up, ie drink water, take a cold shower, sleep it off, drink black coffee etc... Some of these things may make you feel less intoxicated, but if you plan on driving be aware of your BAC or be prepared for the possible consequences.

But back to your question. Your personal physiology will determine how you handle the effects of alcohol. I have turned into a lightweight and get a good buzz off two beers these days. I knew a 50 year old lady that was roughly 90 lbs that would drink an 8 oz glass of vodka and feel about the same as me. I believe, like any substance, the more you are exposed to it, the less you will feel from it.

I hope that answers your question.

That depends on how much you have had to drink and for how long.
