It is good, and it is free, but NOT necessarily the best, just a very good one.
They do NOT have available protection for some older systems, and sometimes do not identify things that would only affect older systems, but are still "running around" out there!
I use more than 1, (on separate computers), and I have found that sometimes 1 will catch something the first in line did not.
I have a LAN with 1box for internet connection and others using that one to connect through.

avg is best because it does what it says it will, it dosnt take over your pc and its free
