I'm no biblical scholar, but Ive always half-joked that the "God" I have read about in there, and the one I often hear christians talk about, would have to be one mean, viscious, vindictive, angry, punitive, sadistic sonofagun. But I aver that since human beings walked on this planet nobody has ever been proven to have seen "God" had a conversation with "God" or for that matter, has ever had any absolutely incontrovertible proof what "God" even is. Which of course, then begs the question as to how those who originated the scrolls which others later translated and interpreted (I suspect probably colored by their own personal religious agenda) spoke with such detailed familiarlity about what this God did, and thought, and wanted, and ordered others to do or refrain from doing, specifically in his name.

This scripture was given to a paticular people at a certain time and place. It has absolutely no place in this age. this is the time for people to rise into spirit, living in unconditional love.,lay down you swords and go home to your loved ones,God wants you to live for him,not die for him.Die to your lower nature, take up the most powerful weapon that ever was, Unconditional love, from a pure heart. learn to trully pray that your enemies may find unconditional love in their hearts as you have done.

This is something you are misinterpreting. The Bible also says to procure yourself a sword for this world. By sword it is in reference to your tongue. Its more like saying tell everyone of your beliefs no matter the consequence held. To procure yourself a sword means to gain enlightenment and knowledge, therefore being your sword.

no.When Jesus talked it was about peace and love. And he talked about His peace and love not the peace and love that the world gives.Jesus loves you like no other person has loved you.How could a religion that preaches love do that in the name God.Thats in the old testament in the Jesus rejects all those kind of behavior.Thats not a contradiction its just that in the old tastament things where done in a different way.

If you read the context, it is about punishment for a wicked & guilty people. Christians did not exist until centuries later.

I am not going to trade words with you i have a feeling you are going to get quite a bit of that without me chiming in. i will say this though: God loves you and wants you to be happy. Ask him and he will show you. Peace.

You can't quote Jeremiah and expect Christians to be held to it.
You are quoting words written to (and for) Jews.
