The basis for man made churches, was for fellow worshippers to have a place to get together and share their faith. If you do not go to church, but you do pray at home, read the word, and do your best to walk and act in the image of Christ, then you are doing what God wants you to do. The Bible states through out, that any 2 people who come together in worship, are at church. Whether it's a building that man made with hundreds of members, or just two people sitting under a birch tree praying together...it's church.

Church is a place for reflection. A place where you go to remind yourself how insignificant mortal you are.
As a community we have developed a way to practise this reflection. You may chose to follow it if you like being in your community.
Otherwise, It is the place where you admit your failures and seek inspiration to do better next time and muster hope to succeed. It is between you and God Who is within you. Church is where you have a better environment to know more about yourself and the God within you.

Um because the Sabbath is on Saturday, which he did keep. It wasn't until much later that followers of Christ started meeting on Sundays instead of the Sabbath.
This was primarily done to separate them from those who didn't believe the Messiah had come because they ("tradition" practicers of Judaism) were being heavily persecuted and also keep the Sabbath as God commanded.
If you don't believe me study it.
Sidenote: To all true beleivers and followers of Christ. As your brother I plead with you that you "2Ti 2:15 study to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." Please do not be ignorant of Scripture (that means all of the OT too) And don't be ignorant of history. This is why world is not shaken because of our lack of knowledege in the things we beleive.
Please remember that we have been "grafted into" Israel, God's chosen people. And that's where our foundation sits. Christianity
is not a "new" or different religion, it is the fulfillment of the promises that God said to his people. It is when we view it as a seperate relgion that we begin to loose sight on how awesome God's plan of salvation to all of the nations really is. Blessing to you all.

God is trying to tell us that we're all sinners in need of a redeemer, and repentance.
He can always make a few more trees.
And Jesus always observed the just requirements of his culture's religion, but not typically on Sunday.

The Church as you are talking about didn't exist when Jesus walked the earth. He came to start the Church through his death.

Jesus was Jewish. He went to the Synagage when he was supposed to (and did so gladly, I should add). The church you are thinking of wasn't around at that point in time, Jesus was laying the foundation for it. He went as his religion said.

Off the top of my head, I'd have to say He didn't go every Sunday because He was Jewish and Sunday is not their Sabbath.
