First let me correct your question. The right word here to use is " Muslim Reverts ". A Non-Muslim is reverted to Islam but not converted. According to Holy Q'uran, Every human being by birth is a Muslim. Muslim means, " One Who Submits His Will To Allah(SWT) ".
If that child is born to a Non-muslim then that child owns the religion of his father after certain age unfortunately.
Now the answer for your question. The only condition for a Non-muslim to revert to Islam is that, he has to say from his heart the Kalima " LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAH MUHAMMADUR RASOOLULLAAH " . This means, " There is None Worthy Of Worship But ALLAH(SWT) & MUHAMMED (PBUH) is ALLAH (SWT) Messenger ".
If you say this then only u r reverted to Islam. Thats it.
Anyone who kills in the name of religion that person has nothing to do with that religion.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SEE THIS SOURCE :http://www.kavalec.com/thisisislam.swf
" ... whosoever killeth a human being, it shall be as i f he had killed whole of mankind & whosoever saveth a human being, it shall be as if he had saved whole of mankind... "
( the Holy Q'uran 5:32 )
Got it.

I think it's likely that Barot is a mentally ill/psychopathic person who stumbled across Islam when he was trying to find some meaning and order in his life.
He then got into the wrong company - extremist Muslims (who represent I am sure a VERY small minority of Muslims).
These extremists maybe saw him coming. If I was in their position I'd be on the look out for a nutjob who I could convert and then use as a tool for my evil purposes.
All the usual caveats apply here.....there are good and bad people of every faith and no faith.
It's an interesting question as to whether he specifically chose Islam so he could get down with Osama. Only he could tell us that.
But it's inconceivable that Islam could turn a normal person into a murderer. It's a religion based on love, peace and forgiveness, just like Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism etc etc.
And give the guy asking this question a break, folks! I really don't think he's being racist or insulting: he genuinely wants to know how Barot got to where he got to.

It is a good question, and hard to answer.
I could be very wrong, but I have noticed that those who convert to Islam, tend to do more than their share to be accepted in their new community, and some of them may take on the belief that they should convert all others to their new religion as they did, and if they refuse, they need to do the drastic path, and take the violent part, but that is the very minimum. It is true it did happen. I suppose it is depend on those who brought them into the religion, not the religion itself.
I read a story about two boys who went to France for education, and there they found Islam, and converted. One day, one of the boys called his mother crying to her, and telling her painfully, that one day if she refused to convert to Islam, he will be the one who will kill her. I believe he did that because he believes he is doing the right thing, trying to convert his parents as he did, but the majority of the Muslims do not do that, if you refuse to convert, they just move on, and want to live and let live.

it particularly is a Saudi subsidized college coaching the Saudi version of Islam. And this surprises people? no longer something would be carried out approximately it, as inspite of Saudi being between the main illiberal countries interior the international, the place foreigners are pushed to the front to observe public executions, (a chum of my mum and dad worked there for some years and had horror memories approximately that,) the user-friendly fact is, this u . s . a . is in mattress with Saudi Arabia interior the call of oil. yet stealing is okay while it particularly is carried out to non-Muslims, eh? That so explains the cost of a barrel of oil via OPEC.

Normally if you convert or change a religion it is to find some sort of peace of mind, if you are thinking of committing mass murder I would not regard you as being very godly ,whether it be Islam, Catholic or any other

Unfortunately many strands of islam lend themselves to agression, discrimination and intolerence(not to mention the dual concepts of victimhood and domination) so it is possible for some people to be brainwashed into violent, nihilistic behavior. However, these people may in some cases have that side to their personalities, and seek aggressive doctrines to hide behind. For example, Richard Reed and this guy didnt get into Sufism(a peaceful islamic doctrine) did they?

no its not the Muslim religion which brought him to wanting to commit this acts, its his own personal intentions, no one forces no one to do anything. to kill in Islam is actually wrong, however there is times when killing is expected, but that is a whole different story.

Converts tend to be the most activist. I think some people may have the basic sociopathic profile but need the ideology!

I see my friend, that you have not articulated your question as well as you could have.
From the main questions page i seen you question and thought it was a bit racist frankly, however, as i read on i soon realised that it was not.
As for the Muslim converts, no they don't convert because they want to kill people, thats implying that all Muslims want to kill people?
More of a stereotypical question this is, Im sure you don't have any Muslim friends, because if you did, you would come to realise that Islam is not a means or excuse to do something that is quite controversial - well nowadays unfortunately, due to media, but more of a way of life.
I have been born a Muslim, and I'm proud, and i do not want to kill people, i think if you did happen to do a bit of research into the topic i think you would know that Islam is a religion of peace and cohesion with other faiths. We do not fight or cause tension unnecessarily, unless it is for a reason, i.e. to fend for our beloved prophet, Muhammad S.A.W (PBUH) or the almighty, Allah.
I hope i have enlightened you and perhaps to some extent, educated you.
