Definitely. Hillel, Confusius, etc... Many philosophers and religious leaders said these things. Treat others as you want to be treated was a very common teaching. The teachings found in Christianity are not unique. They did not originate there.

You are right.
However, why have you not provided references or quotes?
Give proof even if you are right.
The proof would show that Jesus turned a thought ALWAYS expressed in the negative and made it positive.
That's more important than one might imagine.
Instead of refraining ....now we have deliberate positive action.
A new concept!

The golden rule is a Jewish idea; Jesus spoke about it simply because having been Jewish, he knew about it....

So? And? Do they claim Jesus invented these concepts or taught them and desired that we live by them?

Of course. The Golden Rule is sound practice, as would be obvious to any thinking person. As for loving one's enemies, I would not go that far: it is not necessary to love them, or hate them, but it may be necessary to destroy them. (Think al Qaeda.)
