Buy a walker! Some babies just start walking late anyway. You ought to have here checked out by your pediatrician, to make sure she is OK, and doesn't have a reason for this. It never hurts to ask, and you may be glad you did. Good Luck!!!

Don't use anything to limit mobility including walkers, playpens, jumpers. Put her on the floor and let her go. You could also hold her hand and walk with her. You should contact her doctor though. Some babies do just start later than others but 18 months is really pushing the limit. She should be checked for physical defects of the hips and knees and also for developmental disorders. The sooner these things are caught the more likely a normal life is possible.

put her toys at a higher level which will encourage her to climb up to get them. From my personal experience I found the best way to get my toddler to walk was for me to hold him up and my partner to stand and a few steps away and encourage him to come across. Initially it is just one step and a fall, but it is incredibly surprising how quickly they learn, after only a couple of weeks he was running around. I do not believe you have anything to worry about, I have friends with 22 Month old children who are still not walking, some kids just can't see the benefit :)

Hi....Every child is differant. She might need a little more time. If concerned tell her doctor to check her hips. The hips have alot to do with infant walking. Keep trying and enjoy the crawling because once she learns to walk..... Mommy you will have you hands full! LOL Good Luck!

The way my wife and I tackled this was to sit opposite each other and encourage our little one to walk to the other giving plenty of praise for each step she took. Once she started to take a few steps she never looked back.

Start with a small gap between you and then widen the gap.

best of luck, don't get frustrated it will happen eventually.

Try to encourage her to stand against something like a sofa and see if she can stand using the sofa for support. Try to encourage here to move along the sofa. You can try getting here a baby walker. Also hold support here and try to walk with her.

Is she over weight?

Buy her a car or something she can push around, also talk to your doctor, maybe he/she can suggest something, don't get upset and try not to carry her so much, hold her by the hand and encourage her, which is probably what you are doing now. Have faith!!

Have you asked the doctor, maybe she needs a work up to see if there is an underlying problem, this is very late for a baby to attempt to walk. I would start there, not here.

You could hold her by the hands and help her take baby steps. She won't walk until she wants to, but if you help her she may decide she is interested! Good luck.

Try this method, it works on my little cousins:

Hold them, put them down, sit with them, play with them, when you guys are having fun, stand up, and continue playing but in standing position, eventually the lil toddler gets a indirect stimulation to also to stand up...try it (but not all little toddlers want to do it on first try)..
