You get arrested, for not having insurance to begin with, and if you have caused the detah or serious damage or injury to another party and have no insurance, then you are in deep shite! You will gain points on your licence, and you will also be flagged up when you come to approach companies for insurance as you will ahve the record. How would you feel if you had all your paperwork in order on a car, and some idiot hit you, totalled your vehicle and injured you causing you to be off work, and they had no insurance, therefore, who would be paying for the damage and the loss in wages?
If you can't afford insurance, then what the heck are you doing with a car? get the bus and get a job to pay for the insurance!

You can't sue. You can't recover damages from anyone. You are basically on your own. Unless you borrowed the car from someone who didn't advise you that the car was uninsured, then you'll probably be able to recover but from who? Was the other car at fault? then maybe you can recover from their insurance. If your friend was at fault, then good luck. No insurance company will be able to help you on this one. It's a lost cause.

The other person will probably file through his own insurance, who will then determine if they will go after the driver/owner of the uninsured car. Or you can try to pay yourself out of pocket. The other person can also sue, if he doesn't have collision coverage he can use.

If someone is hurt and it's your fault you could be paying for lots of medical bills and such, as well as their car. They will sue you and you will have to pay for years and years. Always a better idea to be insured and not risk it.

Then be prepared because the driver of the other vehicle will probably sue the pants off of you. Not to mention being in trouble with the law. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE WITHOUT INSURANCE. PEOPLE LIKE THAT RUIN THE LIVES OF OTHER HONEST, HARD WORKING INDIVIDUALS.

In most states, you will be in a lot of trouble. Your drivers license will be suspended, your car will be impounded and you will have to post a huge cash bond, to get them back. In some states you might even be jailed!
