Some Jews celebrate at least part of the usual Christmas festivities, so your question is really the wrong question. The right question, which you will have to answer for yourself, is: what sort of festivities do we, as a family, wish to engage in? There are all sorts of fun possibilities; pick what works best for you.

God you sound like my husband! Just put the lights up. Or, you COULD pay a service to do it. I'm thinking about it this year to give the hubby a break, although he'll be furious to know we paid someone. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Enjoy your children and the holidays and the lights! Oh yeah, and lying to your children about what religion they are...not a good idea....ever!

Well, there are Jews who also celebrate Christmas, or at least a few of the traditions that generally go along with Christmas, so even Jews can decorate for the holiday. And also, depending on the age of your children, it may not be appropriate to tell them what they belive.

if you are Jewish, you need to clarify that with them if they dont know already. If you converted and they were used to Christmas every year its not fair if you tell them your not doing it anymore at the last minute.
Unless of course your question meant you are not in the mood to ''do'' Christmas anymore and are asking how to avoid it?

Well at christmas time last year, my mom told me that we were now muslim. I was shocked! I was also mad that my mom wanted the family to change their religoin. It depends on your childs age. It would be better if they are just children(2,3,4,5,6,7,8).
