Not exactly one particular day but a particular person---my mother. She was a heavy-set woman who was only 5'2" tall. But I will always remember how she would wrap her arms around me and tell me that she loved me. Her blue eyes would sparkle when she laughed (which was often and she usually laughed so hard that she'd cry) and everyone around her couldn't help but to laugh along with her. She had lots of laugh lines and her friends were from many very different walks of life. So many times I saw her "stand tall" with the pride she had for me. So many times she told me "I may not agree with all that you do, but I'll always love who you are." She was the most open-minded, kind person that I've ever met and her love has made me the person that I am today. I lost my mother suddenly 13 years ago, but that's okay. She gave me enough love and encouragement to last a lifetime. That's what's in my box.

The days I spent in New Orleans over the summer are a big one. We'd wake up at five AM, help make breakfast for fifty people, head out to the work sites, back for lunch, out to work again, then back for dinner and a nice evening spent with the great people we were working with. It was a beautiful time, very simple and lovely, and the people whose house we were working with were great too. The people we were staying with were from all over the country...sad, because I miss them sometimes...
