Good question. Since God is love why don't we instead of arguing with those of other faiths or religions just spread the love? Hmm. Maybe we're too self centered and want it our way. Maybe we're sick of this world and want to try and get as many saved and as soon as possible so we can get out of here. But we're all going about it the wrong way. It's simply loving them like God does that we need to and should do. What's going wrong is we're spending more time pointing out what's wrong with them and their religion and not enough time with God improving ourselves so we can then share His love with them. That's the way I see it. OUCH!!! I'm stepping on my own feet on that one. Thanks so much for asking my sister in Christ.

Putting aside arguments and helping others means leaving the comfort zone. It's unfortunate, but there aren't many willing to do that.
I asked a similar question to this the other day, and the majority of answers I received seemed to imply that getting everyone's religion straight was the most important thing, and people of two different faiths can't possibly be expected to work together towards the greater good of humanity. (I'm living proof of the opposite--the Christian charities and Christian hurricane relief groups I've worked with have been far happier to have some help than to worry about the fact that I'm not a Christian. It's a little different in the real world away from the computer...)

What is wrong? Nothing. The world we live in is in a great process of renewal. The old ways are decaying and crumbling right before our very eyes and the new ways are just beginning to take root. Keep your eye on the end of things (the regeneration of the whole human race) and not on the process of decay. Look for the people who are working to uplift civilization and stay clear of those who are working towards decay (both physical and moral).
The Baha'is are not fighting or saying ugly things about other religions. On the contrary, we embrace all major religions as The Religion of God. In fact, our Prophet/Founder, Baha'u'llah, instructed us to "... consort with the followers of all religions in a manner of friendliness and fellowship."
You're right about all the degrading remarks and attitudes being a waste of time and energy. Check out www.bahai.org if you'd like to read about some of the socio-economic projects we have around the world.

If you really believe you are following the true God, you do not need to prove anything. You do not need to prove God's existence as He is quite capable of proving that Himself. You do not need to argue about religion and beliefs - if someone really wants to know what you believe, tell them. But if they just want to argue, walk away - arguing won't help anything and it is a waste of energy that, as you say, could be better used to try to "eradicate the pain and suffering in the world."

Hi, my answer may annoy or even shock at first but bear with me.
what people sometimes fail to understand is that God is Truth itself(Himself) and His Truth is an unstoppable force that no-one or nothing created can resist, the truth cannot lie down even to elequent reason if that reason itself is trying to gloss over the truth.
this force is the driving force of believers and is spoken by the Holy Spirit to and thru them and compels them to be children of the truth. so you might ask,What is the Truth? and the answer that evaded Pontius Pilate even though he was lokking at the Truth is this, the Truth is not something, the Truth is somebody, Jesus Christ, and so you see to deny the Truth is sinful and to try to silence it is impossible,to defeat the Truth is not possible, simply because it is God Himself.
the problem with truth is that it challenges us when we would much rather be let off and not make waves,or worse still when we are trying to live a lie,and this makes us very uncomfortable and so we make every attempt to deny the truth, enevitably we just can`t defeat God`s truth, and for some this is a mighty struggle for the ego.
of course some of us Christians forget that we are not the truth God is, and so when we take our eye of Jesus we to can get it messed up,but the truth will always win out no matter what.
finally there is a way to bring the Truth to others but it should never be done by self righteousness and fear, but with humble self assurance, love and compassion.

If everybody is having the same vision as you are the world will be at peace all the time. But unluckily as you could see in the world today misunderstandings and intolerance in different religions had brought so much disaster to human themselves, to the extend of killing one another. The problem is what solution to solve the never ending issues before people really respect and love one anotheï¼

Christians do reach out and help their fellow man. You make the faulty assumption that all they do is argue w/ other religions and ignore the many needs of man here on earth. Simply not true. Church's everywhere provide far more help than our own government does; not to mention assistance overseas in areas that aren't even poplulated with Christians. In the end, God gave us a responsibility to help our fellow man, to love them just as we love ourselves. In addition, he also gave us the responsibility to tell everyone who doesn't know who God is about God and what he can do for you. Sometimes, this is informing those who have no religion; sometimes, its informing those of another religion. Sometimes, we have to 'argue' w/ the members of other religions in order for us to make our point, as they will understandably defend what they believe. Many many more benefits are derived by spreading the Lord's message than would be if we all just helped those in need w/ out spreading his message.

this is the same problem Moses had in the desert.
Even after God rescue the Jews and parted the red sea and preformed all kinds of Miracles to get them out of Egypt they turned to Baal and built an Idol.
Moses ask for rules to govern by and God said they would not follow them.
The bottom line is be the light don't try to verbally convince people but lead thru example they will approach you.

Accept that not everyone is going to have the same beliefs. Part of the beauty of the world is the differences. My friends and I share different beliefs, but we do not let it destroy us. We focus on what we do agree upon and we do not try to tell the other that they are wrong. Pushing your ideas on someone else isn't always welcome, and you may end up creating the very problems you want to disolve. Your faith and beliefs should not require that others convert to your way of thinking. They should be strong enough on their own, I know mine are.

You make a good point.
One of the more difficult things to do is discuss religion calmly and respectfully.
However, it is possible .....if fact: necessary.
Why necessary?
Because there are some popular ideas out there that are simply inaccurate.
If I was believing something inaccurate, I'd appreciate someone trying to bring it to my attention.
Of course, I'd ask for proof.
