I saw a recepie for oat bran muffins , will oatmeal be the same ?

oat bran is made from the husk that grows around the kernel of grain. Oatmeal is made from the kernel of grain itself. So no, oatmeal is not the same as oatbran.

No, oat bran is part of the oat plant you can buy a box of oat bran at the supermarket. Many grains have "bran" it is often removed in the milling process. It is essentially fiber.

I would try the oatmeal. The muffins would have less fiber, but more nutrition.
